Zum Saisonabschluss ein Sieg gegen den TSV Milbertshofen III

Es ging nur noch um den vierten Tabellenplatz beim letzten Saisonspiel 24/25 aber für uns war es auch das „Abschiedsspiel“ von Mac. In Anführungszeichen, weil ja doch niemand wirklich glaubt, dass Mac bei Bedarf nicht doch mal in den Kasten springt.

Natürlich war er dann auch direkt am Anfang im Tor und parierte was das Zeug hält. Denn die Gastgeber aus Milbertshofen konnten werfen, doch scheiterten sehr oft am Keeper. Die Abwehr stand anfangs ganz okay da, doch Mil konnte immer wieder von 9 Metern abziehen.

Unser Angriff war, wie die ganze Saison gewohnt hauptsächlich schnell vorne. Einige schnelle Mitten führten zu einer raschen Führung. Der Rest wurde individuell gelöst. Es war ein sehr befreites Spiel. Wenig Druck, direkt ein paar Tore Abstand, die Gegner auch sehr nett. Endlich mal wieder kein Drama-Handball.

Zur Auszeit stand es bereits 7:14 und tatsächlich konnte Milbertshofen mit einer taktischen Umstellung uns sehr ärgern. Der vorgezogene Abwehrspieler machte und auf Rückraum Rechts das Leben schwer und der Abstand vergrößerte sich nicht mehr.

Zur Halbzeit stand dann 16:22 auf der Tafel. In der zweiten Hälfte kämpfte Milbertshofen tapfer weiter und kam auch wieder ein wenig näher ran, da die Abwehr zu später die wurfstarken Gegner annahm. Doch schon vor der 40. Minute war der Knoten geplatzt und die Laimer stürmten auf 10 Tore Abstand davon.

Paul machte genauso wie Mac das Tor dicht und lieferte noch ein paar sehr schöne Gegenstöße, doch das Ende gebührte natürlich Mac, der nach 22 Jahren im Herrenbereich nun in die wohlverdiente Handballrente geht. Danke für die lange und großartige Leistung, auf und neben dem Spielfeld!

Endstand 30:39. Damit bleiben die Herren 2 auf Platz 4 in der Liga. Ja, wir hatten anfangs mehr erwartet, doch war das Spiel ein versöhnlicher Abschluss mit der Saison.

It was all about fourth place in the table in the last game of the season 24/25, but for us it was also Mac's “farewell game”. In quotation marks, because nobody really believes that Mac won't jump into the box when needed. Of course, he was in goal right from the start and saved everything he could. The hosts from Milbertshofen were able to shoot, but were often thwarted by the keeper. The defense was okay at the beginning, but Mil was able to shoot from 9 meters again and again.

As has been the case all season, our attack was mainly fast up front. A few quick centers led to a quick lead. The rest was solved individually. It was a very relaxed game. Little pressure, immediately a few goals behind, the opponents also very nice. Finally, no drama handball again. The score was already 7:14 at the timeout and Milbertshofen actually managed to annoy us with a tactical change. The forward in defense made life difficult for us on the right back and the gap did not increase any further. At half-time, the score was 16:22. Milbertshofen continued to fight bravely in the second half and got a little closer again, as the defense took on the strong opponents too late. However, the game was over before the 40th minute and Laim stormed away to a 10-goal gap.

Paul, just like Mac, kept the goal tight and delivered a few very nice counter-attacks, but the end was of course due to Mac, who is now going into a well-deserved handball retirement after 22 years in the men's game. Thank you for the long and great performance, on and off the pitch! The final score was 30:39, leaving the men's 2 team in 4th place in the league. Yes, we had expected more at the beginning, but the game was a conciliatory end to the season.
